Under the direction of Michael Riesman, the key concert pieces that defined the minimalist style will be performed - Music in Twelve Parts , Einstein on the Beach and Music with Changing Parts .
Philip Glass is best known for his music for Godfrey Reggio's cult film trilogy Koyaanisqatsi, Powaqqatsi and Naqoyqatsi. Other notable film credits include the music for the Oscar-winning film The Hours starring Nicole Kidman, and Martin Scorsese's fascinating biographical drama Kundun, which chronicles the life journey of the current Dalai Lama.
Throughout his career, Glass has collaborated with artists such as David Bowie, Brian Eno, Paul Simon and Mick Jagger, which has made his music popular across generations.
